Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world offered sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
