Gas Detonation Claims 3 Carabinieri While Executing Eviction Procedure in the Verona Area

Three members of law enforcement were killed and no fewer than 15 people sustained injuries in a seemingly intentional detonation from gas at a rural property in northern Italy.

The detonation was triggered as officers and emergency crews entered the property close to the city of Verona to enforce an court-ordered eviction for three siblings in their late 50s and mid-60s.

All three officers killed served in the Carabinieri military police.

Investigation Developments

One male and one female were arrested at the location and a third person who fled following the explosion was located soon after. Each of them have been taken to the hospital.
