FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
