Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can now put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".
"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a distinct piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the LAPD.
A legal directive issued a restriction on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "shocking" and remarked they showed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan ended by proposing that an associate ought to have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
